Banu Colak is an associate with the Firm. She graduated from Middle East Technical University as an Electrical and Electronics Engineer in 1996. Banu received her law degree cum laude from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2010, followed by a Masters Degree in Taxation in 2011.  She is currently pursuing a Masters in Corporate Governance and Finance at the same school. Banu is a member of the Women Lawyers Association of Michigan and is a Registered Patent Agent.

Banu joined Hubbard in 2009 as an extern. This position provided her with the opportunity to become extensively involved in the areas of law in which Hubbard practices and to develop invaluable legal research and writing skills. This experience, as well as her experience as a former small business owner and continued studies in the fields of corporate and tax law contributes to her practice at Hubbard.

Banu provides legal services in the fields of business and corporate law, and municipal law. She resides in Okemos with her family.
