The Hubbard Law Firm has joined the Michigan Township Association's Allied Service Provider Program.  Hubbard's investment will be used to improve the overall effectiveness of township governance through more productive business practices, better education and enhanced communications.

On December 15, 2009, the Michigan Supreme Court introduced amendments for Section five entitled "Trust Proceedings" of the Michigan Court Rules.  The proposed rule changes modify the manner and method of service permitting parties to agree to service via e-mail.  The Supreme Court also proposes substantial changes

In Nuculovic v Hill, a published opinion, the Court of Appeals barred plaintiff's claim for failure to provide notice within the 60-day timeframe established by the Metropolitan Transportation Authorities Act of 1967, MCL § 124.401 et seq.  This is the second transit related appellate decision in the past month that narrowly construed MCL 124.419. Shareholders Michelle Brya and Andria Ditschman, will be presenting a session entitled "Avoiding Pitfalls When Dealing With the Open Meetings Act and the Freedom of Information Act" at the Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners Conference on February 17, 2010.  The Hubbard Law Firm currently serves as General Counsel for the Michigan Association of County Drain Commissioners and also represents over forty County Drain Commissioners throughout the state.
