Grants Available to Upgrade Diesel Equipment

The Michigan Department of Environmental Quality (MDEQ) has just announced the availability of grant funding for cities, townships, villages and county agencies (and other public and non-profit entities) to upgrade diesel equipment with newer, cleaner-burning engines, as part of the "Clean Diesel Initiative in Michigan." Eligible diesel equipment includes buses, medium and heavy duty trucks, and agricultural and construction vehicles and equipment. Grant applications will be accepted through November 16, 2011, and the MDEQ is offering an afternoon grant application training session on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Lansing Community College - West Campus.
